NOTICE BY CLASS II LEGAL PUBLICATION On June 13, 2024, Det. R.S. Alford of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department seized $400,000 in United States currency posted as bond by Jeanne Kay Hughes Whitefeather in Case Nos. 24-F-125 and 24-M-24, and by Donald Ray Lantz as bond in Case Nos. 24-F-127 and 24-M-25, with the Circuit Clerk of Kanawha County, at 111 Court Street, in Charleston, Kanawha County, WV, which constitute moneys directly or indirectly used or intended for use in any manner to facilitate a violation of, and r constituted or derived from gross profits or other proceeds obtained from violation(s) of West Virginia’s human trafficking laws in W. Va. Code, Chapter 61, Article 14, and r the laws of the State of West Virginia. The State of West Virginia filed a Complaint for Forfeiture in Case No. 24-C-621 wherein it asked the Circuit Court to forfeit the $400,000 in United States currency to the State and to vest title to and ownership in the State of West Virginia. A copy of said Complaint for Forfeiture can be obtained from the Kanawha County Circuit Clerk’s Office. TO ANY CLAIMANT TO THE WITHIN DESCRIBED PROPERTY: You have the right to file with the Circuit Clerk an answer to the Complaint for Forfeiture setting forth your title in, and right to possession of, the property within thirty days from the service hereof. If you fail to file an answer, a final order forfeiting the property to the State will be entered, and such order is not subject to appeal. Any person having a claim upon the above-described $400,000 in United States currency shall make a claim on said property on or before the passing of 30 days from first publication of this legal publication. Any claim must clearly identify the claimant and the address at which legal process can be served upon the claimant. All claims shall also be delivered to J.
