No.: WV0023159 Applicant: HUNTINGTON, CITY OF 555 SEVENTH AVENUE HUNTINGTON, WV 25701 Location: HUNTINGTON, WAYNE COUNTY Latitude: 38:24:04 Longitude: 82:31:44 Receiving Stream: OHIO RIVER Activity: To acquire, construct, install, operate, and maintain upgrades and improvements to extend sewer services to approximately 53 residences in Green Valley Heights and approximately 275 additional homes and businesses in the vicinity of WV Route 10 between Green Valley Road and the existing Hal Greer #4 Lift Station, to intercept wastewater that currently flows into four (4) package WWTPs (including the Green Valley Heights WWTP) and divert it into the new gravity sewer mains, to decommission the existing Garden Farms Lift Station and divert flows from its catchment area into the new extension on Norwood Road, to construct three (3) wastewater lift stations to transfer wastewater between different drainage zones within the extension and to install nine (9) grinder pump stations to pump wastewater from low-lying homes into the gravity system, to upgrade the existing Hal Greer #4 Pump Station to increase its pump rate and accommodate increased flows all in accordance with “Huntington Sanitary Board Route 10 Sanitary Sewer and Extension Project” approved on July 16, 2024 and prepared by Thrasher, 1000 Corporate Landing, Charleston, WV, 25311; WVDEP SRF #C-544780, IJDC #2022S-2304, #T20-11055. Also, to acquire, construct, install, operate, and maintain improvements to the existing wastewater collection system including the separation of portions of the local storm sewer from the combined sanitary sewer system, installing two detention units with subsurface infiltration zones, two pump stations, and new storm water Outlet 003 which shall discharge to the Ohio River near Milepoint 306.6 in accordance with the “Huntington Sanitary Board 3rd and 5th Avenue Sanitary torm Water Separation Project” approved on August 9, 2024 and prepared by Potesta and Associates, Inc., 7012 MacCorkle Avenue, SE, Charleston, WV, 25304; WVDEP SRF #C-544816 and IJDC #2022S-2244. Tier 1 protection shall be afforded for the discharge from Outlet 003 through implementation of the BMPs. On the basis of review of the application, the “Water Pollution Control Act (Chapter 22, Article 11-8(a)),” and the “West Virginia Legislative Rules,” the State of West Virginia will act on the above application.
