NOTICE Notice is hereby given that the City of Nitro, a municipal corporation, will hold a public hearing before the final vote on a proposed ordinance, the principal object of which is the sale of the City’s wastewater collection and treatment system, aka Nitro Regional Wastewater Utility, including the City’s wastewater collection lines, lift stations, wastewater treatment plant, and all other equipment to West Virginia American Water. The public hearing will be held at City Council Chambers located on the left side of the Nitro Police Department at 497 1st Avenue South, Nitro, West Virginia, on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 6:00 PM. The City proposes to sell the wastewater collection and treatment system to West Virginia American Water on the terms, conditions, and limitations substantially set forth in a proposed agreement of purchase between the City and West Virginia American Water Company, a true copy of which is available for review at City Hall located at 2009 20th Street, Nitro, West Virginia. The final vote on adoption of said proposed Ordinance shall be held in the Council Chambers of the City of Nitro on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 7:00PM immediately following the public hearing. Interested parties may appear and be heard at such times with respect to the passage of the proposed Ordinance. A copy of the proposed Ordinance is available at City Hall. LC-188141 09-27;2024
