ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS ROXY THEATER RENOVATION PHASE IV “SEWER LINE REPLACEMENT” CLENDENIN, WV Construction bids are being solicited by 25045 – A New Clendenin, Inc. from qualified contractors according to Bidding Documents prepared by Carl Boyd Maxwell AIA Architect Inc. Sealed bids will be received at the office of Carl Boyd Maxwell AIA Architect Inc, 1038 Quarrier Street, Charleston, WV 25301 until 2:00 pm, local time, on December 3, 2024, at which time and place the bids will be publicly opened and read. The project is being funded either partially or in whole through the West Virginia State Historic Preservation Office. The flood of 2016 in Clendenin, WV, severely damaged the Roxy Theater. Part of the flood damage was a broken and clogged terra cotta sewer line. This project will replace the damaged sewer line with a new sewer pipe. The scope of work involves removing the necessary portions of a concrete floor, replacing the sewer line, and repouring the concrete floor to specifications. The contractor must carry out the work in compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation. Faxed or emailed bids will not be accepted. A mandatory, pre-bid meeting will be held at the Roxy Theater project site on November 18, 2024, at 2:00 pm. The address of the Roxy Theater is 16 Maywood Avenue, Clendenin, WV 25045. All general contractors bidding on the project must attend the pre-bid meeting to familiarize themselves with the project location, site conditions and other relevant information. Pursuant to Chapter 21, Article 11 of the West Virginia Contractor Licensing Act of 1991, all contractors doing business in West Virginia must be licensed to perform work in the State, and the contractor’s WV license number must be affixed to all submitted construction bids and fully executed and binding construction contracts and agreements. Any and all construction must be in conformance with all applicable state and federal regulations. This project does not require the use of federal prevailing wage rates under the Davis-Bacon Act. Bid bonds are not required for this job, but submission of a bid creates a contractual obligation to keep the bid good for thirty (30) days from the bid opening date. Contractor must submit proof of the completion of three similar projects within the past four years that have complied with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standard’s for Rehabilitation. The contractor must also prove that they have the ability to complete the project in a timely manner and has appropriate licenses (local and otherwise) and insurances.
