ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Sealed Bids will be received by the City of Lewisburg at the Town Hall, located at 942 W. Washington Street Lewisburg, WV 24901, at the specified dates and times for the following work: City of Lewisburg So. Lafayette & Randolph Streets Stormwater Improvements Project Contract No. 1: City of Lewisburg, until 11:00 A.M., L.P.T., December 12th, 2024. The total base bid price for each contract shall include the costs for furnishing labor and materials and performing all work set forth in the Advertisement for Bids, Information for Bidders, Forms of Proposal, General Conditions, Supplemental General Conditions, and Plans and Detail Specifications prepared by Chapman Technical Group. Immediately following the scheduled closing time for the reception of bids, all proposals that have been submitted in accordance with the conditions of this project will be publicly opened and read aloud. The work to be bid upon is described as follows: Contract No. 1 The Project consists of the removal of existing stone and concrete box culverts and the installation of approximately 300′ of 24″ and 475′ of 42″ HDPE dual wall corrugated exterior with smooth interior; and all appurtenances and is identified as Contract No. 1 – City of Lewisburg So. Lafayette & Randolph Streets Stormwater Improvements Project; and is shown on Contract Documents prepared by Chapman Technical Group. Traffic must be maintained throughout the construction period so phasing and sequencing of construction will be required. Dodge Corporation www.dodge.construction.com Copies of the BIDDING DOCUMENTS MUST be obtained from Chapman Technical Group., through their digital Plan Room http://www.chaptech.com/plan-room upon payment of $200 for Contract No. 1. BIDDING DOCUMENTS may also be obtained by calling 304-727-5501. Upon receipt of payment, printed copies will be mailed out to the prospective Bidder. Digital copies (on a CD) of the bidding documents are included with the purchase of the printed bidding documents. Payment is not refundable. Bids from anyone not on the Engineer’s Plan Holders List will not be opened. A Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held on December 5th, 2024, at 11:00 A.M., L.P.T., located at 942 W. Washington Street Lewisburg, West Virginia, 24901. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond or a certified check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid to ensure the execution of the contract for which the bid is made. In case the bid is not accepted, the check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder, but if the bid is accepted and the bidder shall refuse or neglect to enter into a contract with the City of Lewisburg within fifteen (15) days after the time he has been notified of the acceptance of his bid, the said check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City of Lewisburg as liquidated damages for the failure to do so. A two-envelope bid submission is described hereinafter. Each BID for each contract must be submitted in a separate sealed envelope containing the executed Bid Form and included in a larger sealed envelope containing the Bid Bond, Power of Attorney, Drug-Free Workplace Compliance Certification, Certification of Receipt of Addenda, WV Jobs Act Certification, and valid WV Contractor’s License. Both sealed envelopes must have the following information in the lower left-hand corner for the respective contract being bid: Contract No. 1 “Name and Address of Bidder, City of Lewisburg, Bid on So. Lafayette & Randolph Streets Stormwater Improvements Project, Contract No. 1, to be opened at 11:00 A.M., L.P.T., December 12th, 2024. The Contractor’s Qualification Statement form from the two (2) lowest bidders must be submitted to Chapman Technical Group, 200 Sixth Avenue, St. Albans, West Virginia 25177, by 4:00 P.M., December 13th, 2024. Construction time limit is 150 calendar days for Contract No. 1. No Bidder may withdraw their Bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the time of the opening of the Bids.
