WEST VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION OFFICE OF ABANDONED MINE LANDS AND RECLAMATION Public meetings will be conducted to describe proposed AML Economic Revitalization (AMLER) Projects. The intent of these AMLER Projects is to alleviate health, safety and environmental problems created by coal mines abandoned prior to August 3, 1977, while providing an opportunity for economic and community development end use. Information regarding these projects, including required NEPA documentation, can be obtained from the WVDEP at 304-926-0499. The following projects listed with county locations will be explained. PROJECT NAME and COUNTY Air Raid Bike Park Phase 2 – Kanawha White Mountain Lodging – Logan Mylan Park KOA Resort & Campground Phase II – Monongalia Cranberry Tri-Rivers Rail Trail – Nicholas Wheeling Gateway Center- Ohio TAZ Site Development – Preston Clear Fork Rail Trail II – Raleigh Rustic Ravines Lodging & Tourism Attraction – Wayne The Landing Strip – Wyoming A.S. Holdings, Inc.- Raleigh AWVR – Fayette Cumberland Village – Mingo National Youth Science Academy – Davis Campus – Tucker John C. Allen Regional HUB – Recreational Complex Phase 1A &1B – Upshur East Wheeling Community Park – Ohio These projects will be or have been submitted to and vetted by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement for funding consideration.
