APPLICATION FOR SITE APPROVAL The Kanawha County Solid Waste Authority has received an Application for Site Approval from Waste Management of West Virginia, Inc., requesting approval of their location in order to move forward in the permitting process of a new transfer station for Kanawha County. The Charleston Transfer Station will be constructed near the current Charleston Landfill in 741 S. Park Road, Charleston, WV 25304, which is set to close later this summer. A public hearing will be held Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the Clubhouse at Coonskin Park, 375 Henry C Hoppy Shores Drive, Charleston, WV 25311. Individuals interested in providing comments may do so between 5:00-7:00PM. Written comments will be received until Friday, April 11, 2025, and can be submitted by email: director@ kanawharecycles.org, or by mailing to: Kanawha County Solid Waste Authority, 600 Slack Street, Charleston, WV 25301.
