Bids from Certified Disadvantaged (Small, Minority and Women’s) Business Enterprises (DBE) will be received by Landcore Builders, LLC, at 1027 Stewart Street, Milton, West Virginia, until close of business on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. The proposed work will include the construction of a pile and lagging retaining wall and drainage improvements at West Virginia International Airport (CRW). The pile and lagging wall consists of a steel W section encased in concrete shafts, concrete lagging, and earthwork to re-establish the slope. All work shall be completed in accordance with the Contract Plans and Specifications and any subsequent revisions required by the Authority or the FAA. West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection Public Information Office 601 57th Street SE Charleston, WV 25304 304-926-0440 PUBLIC NOTICE – RECEIPT OF VOLUNTARY REMEDIATION APPLICATION PUBLIC NOTICE NO.: VRP #24018 NEWSPAPER: The Herald-Dispatch, Huntington, West Virginia PUBLIC NOTICE DATE: March 28, 2025 Huntington Municipal Development Authority and the City of Huntington have submitted an application to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP) to participate in a voluntary environmental cleanup at the former American Car Foundry (ACF) parking lot under the Voluntary Remediation and Redevelopment Act. The site is located at 2301 Third Avenue, Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia, and is approximately 5.6 acres in size. The site was most recently used by employees of ACF for parking. From approximately 1950 to 1968, Rich Oil Gas and later Murphy Corporation operated automotive fueling and service stations in the northwestern corner of the property along 3rd Avenue. Pre 2008, an active rail line transected the Site in the former 23rd Street right-of-way. Contaminants of potential concern are lead and petroleum constituents in soil. The planned future use is commercial. The Office of Environmental Remediation (OER) at the WVDEP has negotiated a Voluntary Remediation Agreement with the applicant(s) to address environmental conditions associated with the site. The agreement includes provisions for assessing potential environmental contaminants; evaluating human health and ecological risks; establishing remediation standards; and, performing any cleanup necessary to meet the standards. At project conclusion, the applicant will submit a Final Report, documenting that all work is complete.
