NOTICE CITY OF KENOVA Notice is hereby given that the City of Kenova, West Virginia, a municipal corporation, will have a second and final vote on a proposed ordinance, the object of which is to continue to impose a municipal business and occupation tax pursuant to West Virginia Code 8-13-5 to the fullest extent allowable under the operative laws of the State of West Virginia and to exempt persons with gross income of less than two thousand five hundred dollars, as described therein, from the tax beginning July 1, 2025. The title of the ordinance is “ORDINANCE REPEALING EXISTING ARTICLE 737 ‘BUSINESS AND OCCUPATION TAX’ OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF KENOVA, WEST VIRGINIA, AND ENACTING REVISED ARTICLE 737, ‘MUNICIPAL BUSINESS AND OCCUPATION TAX.'” The final vote on such proposed Ordinance shall take place in the Council Chambers of the City of Kenova, located at 1501 Pine Street, Kenova, West Virginia 25530, on June 19, 2024, at six thirty o’clock (6:30) p.m. Interested parties may appear and be heard at such time with respect to the passage of the proposed ordinance.
