PUBLIC NOTICE The U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) is considering a request for Federal assistance from City of Kenova to construct a Prichard Waterline Replacement, Upgrade and Extension Project in City of Kenova, Wayne County, West Virginia. Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), EDA is conducting an assessment of the potential of the proposed project to affect the environment and/or historic properties. Notice is hereby given that the project is proposed to be located in, or may affect, a floodplain and/or wetland as defined by Executive Order (EO) 11988 and/or EO 11990. The project will replace and upgrade the existing waterline to the Prichard area to meet current and future capacity needs and provide businesses with an adequate supply and flow of water for fire suppression purposes. The project will be located at U.S. Route 52 across from the water treatment plant with a water main tie-in to the existing water system that will continue along U.S. Route 52 to the intersection of U.S. Route 52 and County Route 18 (Gragston Creek). The water main will then follow County Route 18 to the intersection of County Route 18 and County Route 20 (Centerville Road) and will then follow County Route 20 to the intersection of County Route 20 and U.S. Route 52 before finally following Old U.S. Route 52 into Prichard and to the Heartland Intermodal Gateway site.
