Notice of Meeting of Wayne County Commission As Board of Review and Equalization during February 2026 Pursuant to the Code of West Virginia, Chapter 11, Article 3, Section 24, the County Commission of Wayne County, West Virginia, will meet in Room 103 of the Wayne County Courthouse as the Board of Review and Equalization for the purpose of reviewing and equalizing assessments made for the Fiscal Year 2026. During this time of January 28th and thereafter, until February 19th, a property owner may request a hearing to protest and seek relief from his or her assessment for property tax purposes. A property owner must call 304-272-6349 beforehand to attempt to resolve any problems with the Wayne County Assessor’s Office. If you are unable to resolve your issues with the Wayne County Assessor’s Office and need to schedule a hearing with the Board of Review and Equalization, you may contact Stephanie Simoes, Administrative Assistant for the Wayne County Commission, at 304-272-6350. Before scheduling the hearing, the taxpayer should submit written documentation for filing and review, setting forth the reason for the protest. This written request may be mailed to the Wayne County Commission, c/o Board of Review and Equalization, P.O. Box 248, Wayne, WV 25570. Said written requests may also be delivered in person to Room 104 of the Wayne County Courthouse, 700 Hendricks Street, Wayne, WV, 25570. The last day to request a hearing is Friday, February 13, 2025, before 3:00 PM. Requests submitted by mail must arrive prior to the time and date stated above.
