Tariff Form No. 8-A1 (WATER) PUBLIC NOTICE OF CHANGE IN RATES IN EFFECT SUBJECT TO REFUND Notice is hereby given that Buffalo Creek Public Service District (the “District”), a public utility, has on April 23, 2026, filed with the Public Service Commission of West Virginia, an application containing increased rates, tolls and charges for furnishing water service to approximately 1,494 customers within its service territory in Logan County, West Virginia. The increased water rates and charges will produce approximately $161,706 annually in additional revenue, an increase of 21.97%. The average monthly bill for the various classes of customers will change as follows: TYPE OF CUSTOMER Residential (3,000 gallons) ($) INCREASE $7.54 INCREASE (%) 21.97% TYPE OF CUSTOMER Commercial (7,600 gallons) ($) INCREASE $20.48 INCREASE (%) 21.97% The District has no resale customers. The increases shown are based on averages of all customers in the indicated class. The requested rates and charges went into effect subject to refund on April 23, 2026 and are subject to change (increases or decreases) by the Public Service Commission in its review of this filing. Each class may receive an increase or decrease greater or less than stated here. Individual customers may receive increases that are greater or less than average. (If a hearing is scheduled, notice will be given of the time and place of hearing.) Anyone desiring to protest or intervene should file a written protest or notice of intervention within thirty days unless otherwise modified by Commission order. Failure to timely protest or intervene can affect your rights to protest any rate increases or to participate in future proceedings. All protests or requests to intervene should briefly state the reason for the protest or intervention. Requests to intervene must comply with the Commission’s rule on intervention set forth in the Commission’s Rules of Practice and Procedure.
