ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS The Fayette County Board of Education, hereinafter referred to as the Owner, invites qualified contractors to submit sealed bids for the following Fayette County Schools Bid Packages: Bid Package No. 1 to include the following: 1. Renovations To Midland Trail High School – 19017 26719 Midland Trail Hico, West Virginia 25854 2. Additions and Renovations To Oak Hill High School – 19018 Oak Hill, West Virginia 25901 3. Additions To Fayetteville PK-8 School – 19004 515 West Maple Avenue Fayetteville, West Virginia 25840 Bid Package No. 2 to include the following: 1. Building Additions To Valley PK-8 School – 17039 1 Greyhound Lane Smithers, West Virginia 25186 according to Bidding Documents prepared by ZMM, Inc. Architects and Engineers. Sealed bids will be received at the offices of the Owner, 111 Fayette Avenue, Fayetteville, West Virginia 25840 until 1:00 p.m., local time, on March 31, 2020 at which time and place the bids will be publicly opened and read. A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. local time, on March 18, 2020 at the offices of the Owner, 111 Fayette Avenue, Fayetteville, West Virginia 25840. Attendance at pre-bid conference is mandatory for prime contract bidders only. Bidders for Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing are not required to attend. Bidding Documents can be obtained by the following method: 1. Prime Contract Bidders only may contact ZMM, Inc. Architects and Engineers at (304) 342-0159 and request information to access the firm’s online F.T.P. site for the Fayette County Schools Projects listed above. Once access is gained, Contractors can download Bidding Documents in the form of PDF files at no charge. Requests for access to documents must be made by telephone, and those requests received through mail, email, fax transmission, or other online communications will not receive a response. Bidding documents may be examined at Viewing Depositories listed in the Bidding Documents. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, made payable to the Owner, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Each Bidder must be registered with the West Virginia Department of Tax and Revenue prior to the time and date for Receipt of Bids in order for his Bid to be considered. Each Bidder’s registration certificate number shall be written in the space provided on the Form of Proposal. All bidders are required to be licensed to perform work in the State prior to submitting a bid for this project as required by Chapter 21, Article 11, of the Code of West Virginia. Each Bidder’s Contractor license number shall be written in the space provided on the Form of Proposal. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, the right to waive minor informalities and procedures in bidding, and the right to withhold final award of contract for 60 days after opening bids. The bidder to whom the contract is awarded shall execute and deliver to the Owner within 10 days after the award, and before signing the contract, a Performance Bond and Payment Bond utilizing the bond forms bound in the Project Manual each in a penal sum equal to at least the contract sum and the cost of such bonds shall be included in the bid.
