JOINT PUBLIC NOTICE FOR THE DRAFT KYOVA’S 2021-2024 TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (TIP) & OHIO DOT’S STATEWIDE TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (STIP) The KYOVA Interstate Planning Commission and Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) are in the process of updating the TIP/STIP for Fiscal Years 2021-2024. Comments on the Draft 2021-2024 TIP/STIP will be accepted during a 30-day comment period from March 27, 2020 through April 26, 2020. For reference, WV and Kentucky STIPs are not being updated at this time. The 2021-2024 TIP/STIP is the region’s short-term program of projects scheduled to receive federal transportation funds over the next four years. The TIP is used by KYOVA to plan and program highway, public transit, waterway, air, rail, bicycle, pedestrian, and other economic recovery projects within the KYOVA Planning Area which includes Cabell and Wayne counties, West Virginia; Boyd and Greenup counties, Kentucky; and Lawrence County, Ohio. Once adopted, KYOVA’s TIP program is folded into the STIP. Due to the state of emergencies in our region regarding concerns for public health, KYOVA along with the federal and state agencies strongly encourage adjustments in the public involvement outreach for the draft 2021-2024 STIP/TIPs. Therefore, In lieu of public meetings/open houses period from March 30, 2020 to April 10, 2020. We will be conducting an on-line public involvement outreach. The final 2021-2024 TIP/STIP is due April 10, 2020. KYOVA is utilizing statewide press releases, social media notices including facebook and twitter, emails, website notices, flyer, newspaper advertisement in alignment with KYOVA’s Planning Program Public Participation. The public will be able to review and comment on the TIP and STIPs on-line at the following website addresses.
