Invitation to Bid The Greenbrier Historical Society, on behalf of Friends of the Blue, is requesting bids for the dewatering, stabilization, and repair of the foundation walls of the historic Blue Sulphur Springs Pavilion in Greenbrier County. The project includes: 1. Hand and mechanical excavation of pavilion grounds and existing pipe trench. 2. Installation of new drain pipe and backfilling of excavated areas with gravel and topsoil. 3. Installation of temporary column bracing and removal of deteriorated brick masonry portion of wall. 4. Repair and repointing of sandstone foundation wall and caps. 5. Reconstruction of wall between foundation and wall caps. All excavation work is to be completed in consultation with owner-provided archaeologist. Work must be completed by June 30, 2020 and will be reviewed by the West Virginia State Historic Preservation Office. Contractors will be selected based upon (1) cost, (2) experience with similar historic preservation projects, and (3) proven ability to complete a project. All work must be carried out in compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation. The property will be open for a mandatory pre-bid meeting and walkthrough at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 6, 2020. All bids must be received no later than 2:00 PM on Monday, April 27, 2020.
