ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS ROANE COUNTY SCHOOLS ROANE COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA SAFE SCHOOL ENTRANCE RENOVATIONS FOR SPENCER ELEMENTARY AND ROANE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL THRASHER PROJECT #060-0989 Sealed Bids for the Safe School Entrance Renovations for Spencer Elementary and Roane County High School will be received by Roane County Board of Education located at 813 Capitol Street Spencer, Roane County, WV, until 1:00 pm, L.P.T., Tuesday, April 21, 2020, for furnishing labor and materials and performing all Work set forth in the Contract Documents prepared by The Thrasher Group, Inc. Immediately following the scheduled closing time for the reception of Bids, all proposals which have been submitted in accordance with the conditions of the Contract Documents will be publicly opened and read aloud. The Work to be Bid upon is generally described as follows: The Work of the Project includes new entries and interior renovations of the existing office at Spencer Elementary and an existing classroom at Roane County High School. This interior renovation work includes, but is not limited to removal of light fixtures, removal of interior gypsum board and stud wall partitions, removal of floor finishes, and removal of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing fixtures, equipment, and distribution. Once the interior demolition has taken place, construction activities shall include, but is not limited to, new storefront, new gypsum and metal stud wall partitions, new masonry walls, new lay-in acoustic tile ceilings, new gypsum ceilings, new floor finishes, new doors and frames, painting, and new plumbing and electrical fixtures, equipment, and distribution. The Work will be substantially completed 180 days from issuance of Notice to Commence with final completion 30 days after. Liquidated damages shall be $750 per day. O. Box 940, Bridgeport, WV 26330, for the following costs: Bidding Documents issued as hard copy drawings and hard copy specifications are available for $100 per set. Bidding Documents issued as digital drawings and digital specifications on a C.D., are available for $30 per set. Amounts paid are not subject to refund. Envelope No. 2 labeled “Bid Proposal” shall also be placed inside of Envelope #1. Envelope No. 1 will be opened first and the Bid Opening Requirement items checked for compliance as outlined on the Bid Opening Checklist on page BOR – 1 of these contract documents. If such documents are found to be in order, Envelope No. 2 “Bid Proposal”, will then be opened and will be publicly read aloud. If the documents required to be contained in Envelope No. 1 are not in order, Envelope No. 2 “Bid Proposal” will not be opened and the Bid will be considered non-responsive and will be returned to the Bidder. A Bidder may not withdraw his Bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening of Bids. Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond payable to the Roane County Schools an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the Total Bid. Bidders must hold a current West Virginia contractor’s license on the date of Bid Opening. Bids received after the scheduled closing time for the reception of Bids will be returned unopened to the Bidders. Roane County Schools reserves the right to reject any and all Bids.
