CITY OF CHARLESTON ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS 2020 PILE AND LAGGING RETAINING WALL PROJECT The City of Charleston, West Virginia, will receive sealed bids for the Project until Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at 10:30 am, at the White Law Offices PLLC, Bid Agent for the City of Charleston. The bid opening will be held 30 minutes after the bids are closed; 11:00am, Tuesday, July 14, 2020, via live streaming by video conference. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in bidding, and to accept the bid considered to be in its best interest from the lowest responsible bidder. All interested parties are invited to attend the bid opening. Plans and specifications may be obtained from the Contractor’s Association of WV. Plans and specifications may be examined at the following location: Contractor’s Association of WV 2114 Kanawha Blvd. East Charleston, WV 25311 Or by logging onto the City’s website, https://charlestonwv.gov/bids-purchasing/current-bids. The Contractor and any Subcontractors will be required to comply with all applicable Federal requirements pertaining to Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity Executive Order 11246, Federal Labor Standards, Copeland Anti-Kickback Act, Clean Air Act, Federal Water Pollution Control Act, and DBE/WBE goals as described in the Specifications. A mandatory pre-bid conference for the purpose of discussing and clarifying the project plans and specifications will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the City Engineering Office, located at 114 Dickinson Street, on Tuesday, June 30, 2020. All bidders shall include a cashier’s or certified check or a satisfactory bid bond furnished by a solvent surety company authorized to do business in the state of West Virginia in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. A West Virginia Contractor’s License Number must be included on the bid submission. The successful bidder will be required to furnish both Performance and Payment Bonds, each equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount; the fee for all bonds shall be included in the bid proposal.
