NOTICE Notice is hereby given that the Town of Cedar Grove, a municipal corporation, will hold a hearing before the final vote on a proposed ordinance, the principal object of which is the increase of sewer rates for customers of the sewer system operated by the town of Cedar Grove. The proposed increased rates are necessary for the Town to evaluate and upgrade the Town’s Sewage System which is under an administrative Order issued by the West Virginia Department of town Environmental Protection. Specifically, the Town will perform smoke testing and inspection of the entire collection system, upgrade all of its pumping stations, prepare as asset management plan and update the Combined Sewer Overflow – Long Term Control Plan. The increase for customers based on an average usage of 3,202 gallons of water is $25.28 or 44.00%. The average increase for all classes of customers in Cedar Grove is 44.00% or about $25.28 more for 3,202 gallons of water used. For all classes the propose rate is $25.85 per 1,000 gallons. The minimum bill will be $51.70 at 2,000 gallons. A flat rate charge for customers with nonmetered water supply is $116.33 based on 4500 gallons of water usage. The final vote on adoption of said proposed Ordinance shall be held in the Council Chambers of the Town of Cedar Grove on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. Interested parties may appear and be heard at such time with respect to the passage of the proposed Ordinances.
