Advertisement for Bids B Construction of A New Outdoor Performance Stage for the Town of Clendenin The Town of Clendenin, Clendenin, West Virginia invites qualified contractors to bid for construction of an outdoor performance stage. This work includes, but not limited to, anchored pilings, treated wood frame construction, roofing, electrical entrance, limited electrical distribution, and limited lighting. Project location is the intersection of Main Street at Elk River, in Clendenin, WV. All work must be completed within 30 days of signing of a construction contract. Liquidated damages will be assessed at $500.00 per calendar day for each day the project remains uncompleted after the 30 day construction period and then after an additional 14 calendar day construction discrepancy correction period. Proof of a contractor=s license from the State of West Virginia must accompany a bid for this project. A performance bond for the full amount of the bid will be required to receive a contract for this work. The bidder must include a Certification of Compliance for payment of West Virginia Workers= Compensation with the submitted bid. The successful bidder will be required to obtain a business license for the Town of Clendenin and to pay Town of Clendenin Business and Occupational Taxes on income from this project. No Bid Bond will be required to accompany a bid for this project, but bidders are cautioned to check their capability for performance bonding prior to preparing a bid for this work. Sealed bids will be accepted at the Town of Clendenin Town Hall, at corner of Maywood Avenue and 1st Street, in Clendenin, West Virginia 25045, until August 10, 2020, at 4:00 PM, local prevailing time. After that time, and on that same date, the received sealed bids will be opened by the Clendenin Town Council, and read aloud after 6:00PM local prevailing time, at the regular Clendenin Town Council meeting at the Clendenin Community Center, next door to the Town of Clendenin Town Hall. It is the bidder=s responsibility to have their bid physically in the Clerks=s Office of the Town of Clendenin, Town Hall, prior to the deadline for receipt. Faxed bids will not be accepted. Unsealed bids will not be accepted. Bids received after the deadline, for any reason, will not be accepted. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on August 3, 2020 at 10:00 AM, local prevailing time, at the Clendenin Community Building, next door to the Town of Clendenin Town Hall. A sign-in of potential bidders attending will be required, and bids will not be accepted from firms who do not sign in and attend this mandatory pre-bid meeting. Photo identification, such as a valid driver=s license, or equivalent photo identification, will be required for sign-in of each potential bidder=s attendance, and the attendee signing to represent a potential bidder must be an employee or officer of that firm which will be bidding, at the time of signing. Potential bidders are urged to completely review the project documents and visit the construction site prior to the mandatory pre-bid meeting. Project documents (plans with specifications and bidding documents) will be available to qualified bidders, from Charleston Blueprint, Inc., 1203 Virginia Street East, Charleston, West Virginia 25301, phone 304-343-1063, for a non-refundable cost of $12.84, plus any required shipping costs.
