ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS LOGAN COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION LOGAN COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA PROPOSED LOGAN HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC FACILITY THRASHER PROJECT #060-10085 AND MAN HIGH SCHOOL LOCKER ROOM FACILITY THRASHER PROJECT NUMBER #060-10124 Sealed Bids for Logan High School Athletic Facility and Man High School Locker Room Facility will be received by the Logan County Board of Education at the offices of The Thrasher Group, located at 160 Association Drive, Kanawha County, West Virginia, until 2:00 p.m., L.P.T., on Friday, August 28, 2020, for furnishing labor and materials and performing all Work set forth in the Contract Documents prepared by The Thrasher Group, Inc. Immediately following the scheduled closing time for the reception of Bids, all proposals which have been submitted in accordance with the conditions of the Contract Documents will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:30 p.m., L.P.T. through live-stream, as social distancing guidelines will be followed. A link for the live-stream of the Bid Opening will be provided via Addendum. The approximate quantities of Work to be Bid upon is as described as follows: Logan High School Athletic Facility: Construction of a 5,980 sq. ft. Athletic Facility to include locker rooms, restrooms and shower facilities, weight room, wrestling room and storage. The building consists of metal roofing, wood roof trusses, and masonry walls supported by a concrete floating foundation. Construction includes site and utility work, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other associated Work indicated in the Contract Document. Man High School Locker Room Facility: Construction of a 2,000 sq. ft. Locker Room Facility to include a locker room, storage, restroom and shower facilities. The building consists of metal roofing, wood roof trusses, and masonry walls supported by concrete spread footers and a concrete slab on grade. Construction includes site and utility work, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other associated Work indicated in the Contract Document. The Work of both projects will be substantially completed within 180 consecutive calendar days from Notice to Commence. Final Completion shall be 30 days thereafter. Liquidated damages shall be $750.00 per calendar day. Bidding Documents issued as digital drawings and digital specifications via downloadable link, are available free of charge. Amounts paid are not subject to refund. A two envelope system will be used. Envelope No. 1 must have the following information presented on the front: Name and address of Bidder Bid on Logan High School Athletic Facility and Man High School Locker Room Facility Received by The Thrasher Group, Inc. on behalf of Logan County Board of Education Envelope No. 2 labeled “Bid Proposal” shall also be placed inside of Envelope #1. Envelope No. 1 will be opened first and the Bid Opening Requirement items checked for compliance as outlined on the Bid Opening Checklist on page BOR – 1 of these contract documents. If such documents are found to be in order, Envelope No. 2 “Bid Proposal”, will then be opened and will be publicly read aloud. If the documents required to be contained in Envelope No. 1 are not in order, Envelope No. 2 “Bid Proposal” will not be opened and the Bid will be considered non-responsive and will be returned to the Bidder. A Bidder may not withdraw his Bid for a period of five calendar days after the date set for the opening of Bids. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or Bid Bond payable to the Logan County Board of Education, for an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the base Bid. Bidders must hold a current West Virginia contractor’s license on the date of Bid Opening. Bids received after the scheduled closing time for the reception of Bids will be returned unopened to the Bidders. Logan County Board of Education – reserves the right to reject any and all Bids.
