CASE NO. 20-0043-S-19A On January 24, 2020, Williamsburg Sewer System, Inc. filed with the Public Service Commission an Application to increase sewer rates and charges for furnishing sewer treatment services to approximately 207 customers in the Barboursville area of Cabell County, West Virginia. The Staff of the Public Service Commission have reviewed the Application and have reached an agreement with the utility. The parties have stipulated to rates and charges designed to produce approximately $7,250 annually in additional revenue, an overall increase of 10.11%. The Utility and Commission Staff negotiated a proposed settlement in this matter that, if approved, may result in a greater rate increase than initially recommended by Staff. The prior and recommended Staff rates, to date, are as follows: SERVICE CHARGE (per month) CURRENT $10.00 STIPULATED $13.06 LEAK ADJUSTMENT (per thousand gallons) CURRENT $1.12 STIPULATED $0.93 Anyone desiring to protest the proposed rates and charges must do so, in writing, within ten (10) days of the date of publication of this notice. All protests should be addressed to the Executive Secretary, Public Service Commission of West Virginia, P. 0. Box 812, Charleston, West Virginia 25323. To help the Commission determine the justification for additional review and investigation, protests must be specific as to reasons that the proposed rates and charges should be modified. The Commission may adopt rates and charges which are the same as, greater than or less than the Staff-recommended rates and charges. WILLIAMSBURG SEWER SYSTEM, INC. LH-97024 8-19;2020
