INVITATION TO BID The City of Parkersburg, Parkersburg, West Virginia 26101 is requesting a bid for log replacement of all logs on the west end (chimney side) for the Henry Cooper Log Cabin located in Parkersburg City Park off of Park Avenue. The project includes repair via epoxy consolidation, wood splicing, and/or full log replacement on the west wall of the Cabin. Approximately 22 logs have been prepared, dried, and cut for this project and will be supplied by the City of Parkersburg. The project also includes minor exterior repointing of the stone chimney on the west wall. The project completion date will be determined and must be approved by both the City of Parkersburg and the West Virginia State Historic Preservation Office. Contractors will be selected based upon 1) Cost, 2) Experience with similar historic preservation projects, and 3) Proven ability to complete the project. The contractor must carry out the described work in compliance with the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation. The bid project package is available by calling 304-424-8434. In lieu of a pre-bid meeting, interested contractors may schedule an appointment to tour the Cabin. Please contact Adam Stout, with the City of Parkesburg, at 304- 615-0833 in order to schedule this appointment. All sealed bids must be received no later than September 9, 2020 at 4:00 pm. Bid opening will be in the Office of the City of Parkersburg Finance Director, First Floor, Parkersburg City Building, One Government Square, Parkersburg, WV on September 10, 2020 at 11 am.
