PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION OF WEST VIRGINIA CHARLESTON TARIFF FORM NO. IO (Tariff Rule No. 19A) NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO CHANGE RATES ELK VALLEY PUBLIC SERVICE DISTRICT CASE NO. 20-0470-PSD-19A The Elk Valley Public Service District has filed a request with the West Virginia Public Service Commission for an increase in its rates. The Staff of the Public Service Commission has reviewed the application and recommended the following increases: CURRENT RATES Metered Rate (for customers with metered water supply, per month) Service Charge $22.25 Usage Charge per 1,000 gallons $7.26 STAFF RECOMMENDED RATES Service Charge $ 24.11 Usage Charge per 1,000 gallons $ 7.87 Flat Charge (for customers with an unmetered water supply, per month) CURRENT RATES Equivalent of 4,500 gallons $ 54.92 Minimum Charge $ 22.25 STAFF RECOMMENDED RATES Equivalent of 4,500 gallons $ 59.53 Minimum Charge $ 24.11 The Commission may adopt rates and charges for the District which are the same as, greater than or less than the Staff-recommended rates and charges. The rates Staff proposed are expected to generate an additional $217,672 annually or approximately 8.30 percent over current rates. The average residential customer can expect an increase of approximately $3.69 monthly. The full Staff recommendation is available online. Anyone desiring to protest the proposed changes must do so in writing within ten days of the date of publication of this notice. All protests should be addressed to the Executive Secretary, Public Service Commission of West Virginia, P.O. Box 812, Charleston, WV 25323. To help the Commission determine the justification for additional review and investigation, protests should be specific as to reasons that the changed rates and charges should be modified. In addition, anyone desiring a hearing in this matter must demand a hearing in the letter of protest. If no substantial protest is filed, the Staff-recommended rates may be approved without hearing.
