No.: WV0078867 Applicant: AEP APPALACHIAN POWER C/O AEP – MARMET HYDRO PLANT 1 RIVERSIDE PLAZA COLUMBUS, OH 43215-2372 Location: MARMET, KANAWHA COUNTY Latitude: 38:15:08 Longitude: 81:34:12 Receiving Stream: Kanawha River Activity: To operate and maintain disposal systems and best management practices for the direct discharge of untreated non-contact cooling water from Outlets 001, 002, 003, 005, 006, and 007 into the Kanawha River at Mile Point 67.7 Also, to operate and maintain disposal systems and best management practices for the direct discharge of untreated industrial wastewater (sump pump wastewater) from Outlet 004 into the Kanawha River at Mile Point 67.7. Tier 1 protection is provided for all water uses as defined on 47 CSR 2, Section 6. Business conducted: Hydroelectric power station capable of producing a total of 14.4 megawatts. Any interested person may submit written comments on the draft permit and may request a public hearing by addressing such to the Director of the Division of Water and Waste Management within 30 days of the date of the public notice. The Director shall hold a public hearing whenever a finding is made, on the basis of requests, that there is a significant degree of public interest on issues relevant to the Draft Permit(s).
