REQUEST FOR BIDS The TOWN OF CLENDENIN is requesting sealed bids for the elevation of one structure FEMA grant 4273-059, within the Town of Clendenin. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on February 9, 2021 at 2:00 PM, E.S.T. at the Clendenin Community Building, next door to the Town of Clendenin Town Hall. A sign-in of potential bidders attending will be required, and bids will not be accepted from firms who do not sign in and attend this mandatory pre-bid meeting. Sealed Bids for the FEMA Residential Elevation Project 4273-059 will be received by the Town of Clendenin at the Town of Clendenin Town Hall, 103 First Street, Clendenin, West Virginia 25045, until 4:00 p.m., E.S.T., on March 8, 2021, for furnishing labor and materials and performing all Work set forth in the Contract Documents prepared by GAI Consultants, Inc. and Paul D. Marshall Architects and Engineers. All proposals which have been submitted in accordance with the conditions of the Contract Documents will be publicly opened and read aloud during the Clendenin Town Council Meeting beginning at 6:00 E.S.T. on March 8, 2021. It is the bidder’s responsibility to have their bid physically in the Clerk’s Office of the Town of Clendenin, Town Hall, prior to the deadline for receipt. Faxed bids will not be accepted. Bids received after the deadline, for any reason, will not be accepted. The approximate quantities of Work to be Bid upon is as described as follows: Raising one (1) residential structure to a minimum of 2 feet above the base flood elevation in the Town of Clendenin. The work will involve raising the house, modifying the foundations, adjusting utilities and all other necessary work and material necessary to make the structure livable again once the home is raised. The Work will be substantially completed within 120 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run and completed and ready for final payment within 150 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run. Liquidated damages shall be $500.00 per day if proper justification cannot be made for a schedule delay and approved by the Town of Clendenin.
