ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS BERKELEY COUNTY PUBLIC SERVICE SEWER DISTRICT BERKELEY COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA CONTRACT #9 GERRARDSTOWN PUMP STATION, FORCEMAIN AND WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT DECOMMISSION PROJECT THRASHER PROJECT #020-10024 Sealed Bids for the construction of Contract #9 – Gerrardstown Pump Station, Forcemain and Wastewater Treatment Plant Decommission Project will be received, by the Berkeley County Public Service Sewer District, Berkeley County, West Virginia until 2:00 p.m., L.P.T., on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. The approximate quantities of work to be bid upon are described as follows: 1 LS Mobilization/Demobilization; 1 LS Pre-Construction Video of Project Area; 1 LS Erosion and Sediment Controls; 80 LF 12″ PVC SDR-35 Gravity Sewer Line; 35 LF 8″ PVC SDR-35 Gravity Sewer Line; 4,850 LF Dual 4″ PVC C-900 Forcemain; 2 EA 48″ Diameter Manhole Base, Cone Top, Regular Casting, with Watertight Frame and Cover; 2 VF 48″ Diameter Manhole Riser Pipe; 125 LF 24″ Steel Casing (Bore & Jack); 65 LF 16″ Steel Casing (Bore & Jack); 3 EA Dual 3/4″ Air Release Valve Assembly; 4 EA Dual 4″ Pressure Inline Forcemain Cleanout; 2 EA Connection of Proposed Gravity Sewer Line to Existing Gravity Sewer; 275 LF Gravel Driveway/Road Repair; 4,575 LF Reclamation of Disturbed Area; 1 LS for Gerrardstown Pump Station; 1 LS Demolition of Existing Package WWTP; 1 EA Connection of New Forcemain to Existing Manhole. The Work will be substantially completed within 300 calendar days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run and completed and ready for final payment within 330 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Amounts paid are not subject to refund. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. Envelope No. 1 must have the following information presented on the front: Name and address of Bidder Bid on Contract #9 – Gerrardstown Pump Station, Forcemain, and Wastewater Treatment Plant Decommission Project Received by the Berkeley County Public Service Sewer District Envelope No. 2 labeled “Bid Proposal” shall also be placed inside of Envelope #1. Envelope No. 1 will be opened first and the Bid Opening Requirement items checked for compliance as outlined on the Bid Opening Checklist on page BOR – 1 of these contract documents. If such documents are found to be in order, Envelope No. 2 “Bid Proposal”, will then be opened and will be publicly read aloud. If the documents required to be contained in Envelope No. 1 are not in order, Envelope No. 2 “Bid Proposal” will not be opened and the Bid will be considered non-responsive and will be returned to the Bidder. A bidder may not withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of bids. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to Berkeley County Public Service Sewer District in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the base bid. Contractor is required to provide the Drug Free Workplace Certification in accordance with WV Code 21-1D-5. All Bidders are required to have a West Virginia Contractor’s License per Section 21-11-11 of the West Virginia Code. Bids received after the scheduled closing time for the reception of bids will be returned unopened to the bidders. The Berkeley County Public Service Sewer District reserves the right to reject any and all bids. A pre-bid conference will be held at the Berkeley County P.S.S.D., located at 65 District Way, Martinsburg, WV 25404, Berkeley County, West Virginia, on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., L.P.T.
