Environment The proposed project will have no significant adverse environmental impact of the urban area affected. Comprehensive Planning The project is in conformance with the comprehensive land use and transportation planning for the area and is consistent with the adopted programming of projects in the Transportation Improvement Plan. Elderly & Handicapped The project takes into consideration the needs of the elderly and handicapped by insuring half-fares for the elderly and handicapped during KVRTA operation hours. A comprehensive plan for the transportation of the elderly and handicapped has been adopted by KVRTA and is available for public inspection. Charter Service KVRTA is in compliance with the current charter regulations (FTA 49 CFR Part 604) effective April 30, 2008. School Bus Operation KVRTA does not engage in school bus operations exclusively for the transportation of students and school personnel. Private Enterprise KVRTA encourages private participation. KVRTA will meet with interested private transportation providers to discuss and determine if any existing transit service can be provided more efficiently by the private sector. Written requests for such meetings may be submitted to KVRTA throughout the upcoming year. If comments are received, at the hearing or by mail, KVRTA will consider the comments and publish a final Program of Projects in the same manner as this notice. If no comments are received this notice shall serve as the final Program of Projects for this grant application.
