PUBLIC NOTICE West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection Hazardous Waste Program Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Authorization Date of public notice: April 27, 2021 End of comment period: May 28, 2021 Publications: Charleston Gazette-Mail The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP) is seeking program authorization from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for state program approval / primacy of 17 federal rules into the Hazardous Waste Program (HWP). The program is administered in West Virginia by the following State agencies: The Department of Environmental Protection, the Department of Transportation’s Division of Highways, and the Public Service Commission. The State’s program authorization was prepared in accordance with Section 3006(b) of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) of 1976, as amended, by the Hazardous and Solid Waste Amendments (HSWA) of 1984 (42 U.S.C. 6901, et seq.), (RCRA) and 40 C.F.R. 271. The associated documents are available upon request. A digital hard copy of these documents can be provided at a cost of $15. The public comment period begins on April 27, 2021 and ends at 5:30 p.m. on May 28, 2021.
