IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF KANAWHA COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA CASE NO.21-C-463 STATE OF WEST VIRGINIA Petitioner v. $6,000.00 (SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS), In United States Currency, and One X BOX SERIES X with Controller, Respondent. On March 12, 2021, officers of the Charleston Police Department seized $6,000.00 (Six Thousand Dollars), in United States Currency, and one X Box Series X with Controller, at or near 3500 Staunton Avenue, Apartment 3, Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia. $6,000.00 (Six Thousand Dollars), in United States Currency, and one X Box Series X with Controller constitute, money furnished or intended to be furnished in violation of West Virginia Code, Chapter 60A, by any person, in exchange for a controlled substance, proceeds traceable to such an exchange, and moneys used, which have been used, or which are intended to be used, to facilitate a violation(s) of West Virginia Code, Chapter 60A, and the Laws of the State of West Virginia, and/or things of value furnished or intended to be furnished in exchange for a controlled substance, and/or things of value and/or proceeds traceable to the sale of a controlled substance, in violation of West Virginia Code, Chapter 60A, and the Laws of the State of West Virginia The Currency and Things of Value were found in possession and/or of James C. Lawson, Jr and at the time of the seizure, no one claimed ownership of the same. The State of West Virginia has filed a Forfeiture Petition wherein it has asked the Circuit Court of Kanawha County, West Virginia to forfeit the above-described Currency and Things of Value to the State and has also asked the Court to vest title to ownership of the Currency and Things of Value in the State of West Virginia. A copy of said Forfeiture can be obtained from the Kanawha County Clerk’s Office. Any person having a claim upon the above-described Currency and Things of Value shall make a claim on said property on or before the passing of 30 days from first publication of this legal publication. Any claim must clearly identify the claimant and the address at which legal process can be served upon the claimant. All claims shall be delivered to Reagan E.
