ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS CITY OF BRIDGEPORT Bridgeport Route 58 Pedestrian Walkway Phase 2 Sealed Bids for the Bridgeport Route 58 Pedestrian Walkway Phase 2 project will be received by the City of Bridgeport, at the office of the City Engineer in the Bridgeport Municipal Complex at 515 West Main Street, Bridgeport, WV 26330 until 3:00 P.M. local time on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at which time the bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud. The Project consists of an extension of the existing asphalt path at CR 26 (Hinkle Lake Road) and WV 58 north along the western side of WV 58 to Foley Avenue; and replacement of the existing sidewalk on the eastern side of WV 58 from Foley Avenue north to Newton Avenue. The pedestrian / bicycle path also requires the construction of a 610 LF segmental block wall; a small 6 LF segmental block wall; fencing; guardrail; and several catch basins and pipes for stormwater control. Copies of the Plans and Contract Documents may be obtained from the office of the Engineer, E.L. Robinson Engineering Co., 5088 Washington Street, West, Cross Lanes, West Virginia, 25313, upon a nonrefundable payment of one hundred twenty-five dollars ($125.00) for each set of documents. A certified check, bank draft or a satisfactory bid bond furnished by a solvent surety company authorized to do business in the State of West Virginia in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, payable to the City of Bridgeport, shall be submitted with each bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Payment and Performance Bond, Labor and Material Bond for 100% of the contract amount and the fee for same shall be included in the bid proposal. Prospective bidders are advised that the contract awarded under this advertisement for bids is to be funded by a grant from the Federal Aid Highway Program of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Neither the United States, nor any of its departments, agencies, or employees is or will be a party to this Advertisement for Bids or any resulting contract. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the President’s Executive Order No. 11246 and “FHWA 1273”, which prohibit discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex, national origin, or physical disability. Bidders shall also comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Davis-Bacon Act, the Anti-Kickback Act, and the Contract Work Hours Standards Act. Bidders must comply with the requirements for Affirmative Action and Minority Business Enterprises participation as described in the Federal Specifications insert to the Contract Documents. Special provisions will be made by the bidder to show what portions of the bid within each division are supported by Minority Business Enterprise work. In addition, bidders may obtain, upon request, information concerning local MBE firms. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for at least ninety (90) days.
