INVITATION TO BID The City of Nitro request for quotes for the abatement of asbestos and complete demolition and removal of a FEMA buyout vacant home (1,875 sq. ft.) located at 1320 Valentine Circle, Nitro, WV 25143. The Nitro City Council seeks a qualified contractor to complete both jobs, however separate bids will be accepted. Sealed proposals will be accepted until 4:00 pm, Tuesday, November 9, 2021 and will be opened at the regularly scheduled meeting of Nitro City Council, 497 First Avenue South, Nitro, WV at 7:00 pm, November 16, 2021. Bids are to be submitted to City Recorder Rita Cox at Nitro City Hall, 2009 20th St., Nitro, WV 25143 or mailed to Nitro City Hall, Attn: City Recorder, P.O. Box 308, Nitro, WV 25143. The envelopes containing the proposal are to be marked “Responses to RFQ For Demo of FEMA Buyout” in the lower left corner. Email submissions will not be considered. In awarding a contract, the Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive formalities, informalities, and technicalities therein, and to take whatever bid they determine to be in the best interest of the city considering cost, proposal content, qualifications of the contractors, quality of project approach, time of delivery or completion, responsibility of contractors being considered, previous experience of contractors, or any other factors they deem appropriate.
