The work covered by this Advertisement for Bids includes the following: Contract 21-1 Chesterfield, James Street & Roosevelt Lift Station Improvements For the Chesterfield Lift Station, work includes installing a new duplex submersible pumping system in an existing steel lift station; replacing piping and valves in the lift station; electrical improvements; landscaping; site work; and select demolition, together with necessary appertaining work. For the James Street Lift Station, work includes installing new duplex submersible pumping system in a new wet well; installing a new precast concrete valve vault; installing a diesel engine permanent bypass pump; installing a new force main; electrical improvements; and site improvements, together with necessary appertaining work. For the Roosevelt Lift Station, work includes select demolition inside of the existing wet well and valve vault; installing new duplex submersible pumping system inside of the wet well; installing new piping and valves in the existing valve vault; replacing the existing force main with a larger force main; electrical improvements; and site improvements, together with necessary appertaining work. ATTENDANCE BY ALL BIDDERS AT ALL LOCATIONS IS MANDATORY. Per the requirements of the Article 21-11-11 of the Code of the State of West Virginia, any Contractor submitting a Bid on this project will be required to certify, indicate, and acknowledge that he/she has a Contractor’s license from the State of West Virginia and meets all the qualifications required by the statutes of the State of West Virginia and the subdivision in which the Work is to be performed. Per the requirements of the Article 21-1D-5 of the Code of the State of West Virginia, any Contractor submitting a bid for a public improvement construction contract shall provide an affidavit of compliance that the Contractor has a written drug-free workplace policy. Failure to complete and submit the Drug Free Workplace Conformance Affidavit Form shall result in disqualification of the Bid. A cashiers check payable to “The Sanitary Board of the City of Charleston” or a Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and a Surety Company approved by the CSB, in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the Bid, shall be submitted with each Bid, to guarantee the Bidder’s entrance into a Contract, if given the award. Attention to the Bidders is called to the Instructions to Bidders, which are included in the Contract Documents. Successful Bidders shall be required to comply with all laws pertaining to minimum wage and discrimination of persons. The CSB reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and is not necessarily bound to accept the lowest Bid, if that Bid is contrary to the best interest of the CSB.
