ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS WOODROW WILSON HIGH SCHOOL WINDOW REPLACEMENT BECKLEY, WEST VIRGINIA Sealed proposals for: Woodrow Wilson High School will be received by the Raleigh County Schools, 2001 S. Kanawha Street, Beckley WV 25801 until 3:00 PM local time on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 (Bids received after this time will not be accepted). Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at the same location. After opening, the bids will be compared as to quality, thoroughness, and cost by the Owner, and Architect/Engineer (ZMM ARCHITECTS ENGINEERS). Lump sum bids are being solicited for Work included in the above referenced Bid Item for the Project indicated. The contract documents (hard copy) may be obtained on or after, Thursday, January 27, 2022 for purchase at cost plus applicable shipping fees at the office of Charleston Blueprint, 1203 Virginia Street East, Charleston, WV 25301, Phone: (304) 343-1063, Website: www.charlestonblueprint.com. The contract documents (digital) can also be obtained via download from ShareFile at no cost. Upon valid email address, ZMM (Phone: (540) 552-2151) will provide a password with instructions on accessing and downloading plans and specifications. The contract documents may be reviewed for bidding purposes without charge during business hours at the Blacksburg office of the Architect Engineer or at the locations provided below. All questions prior to bid must be made through Brenda McKinney of ZMM at [email protected] Contractors may purchase additional sets of drawings from Charleston Blueprint at their own expense. Contractors purchasing additional bidding documents are also responsible for obtaining and purchasing copies of any and all addenda, including any shipping or handling costs. This is a Single Prime Contractor project. ZMM ARCHITECTS ENGINEERS will conduct a MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 10:00 AM local time at Woodrow Wilson High School, 400 Stanaford Road, Beckley, WV 25801 (meet at the school entrance); all interested Prime Contractor bidders, sub-contractors and material suppliers are encouraged to attend. The purpose of the pre-bid conference is to familiarize the Bidders with the building and if they should have any questions regarding the Bidding Documents. Davis-Bacon Act and Buy America Act: Bidders should be aware that the Davis-Bacon Act applies to this project. Applicable wage scale decision for this project is contained within the specifications as an attachment to Section 011000. Buy America Act does not apply to this project; however, awards made under the CRRSA Act and ARP Act are subject to 2 CFR 200.322 which establishes domestic preferences for procurements under Federal grants that are subject to the Uniform Guidance. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, executed by the Bidder and an acceptable Surety, in an amount equal to 5% of the bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a 100% Performance and Material Payment Bond in the amount of the bid (including all add alternates), as described in the Instructions to Bidders. Each bidder shall ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to conduct such investigation as necessary to determine the responsibility of a bidder, and to the extent permitted by state law; Raleigh County Schools reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to make selections from the bids that are solely in the best interest of Raleigh County Schools.
