PUBLIC NOTICE Notice is hereby given that the Regional Intergovernmental Council (RIC) is proposing to amend the FY 2022-2025 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and the Kanawha-Putnam 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP). This is being proposed in accordance with the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and in cooperation with the US Department of Transportation, the WV Department of Transportation, and the Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation Authority. The TIP’s proposed highway projects are regionally significant and require approval by the RIC Policy Board. The proposed amendments to the TIP, for Kanawha and Putnam counties, include priority projects and programs for which implementation is anticipated in fiscal years 2022-2025. The TIP describes all highway and transit projects for which federal funding is anticipated and provides a financial plan for implementation. The TIP also includes estimates of available Federal Transit Administration funds for vehicles to serve elderly persons and persons with disabilities. The MTP for the Charleston, WV Metropolitan Statistical Area (all of Kanawha and Putnam counties) includes priority projects and programs for which implementation is anticipated in the next twenty years. The MTP must meet all air quality conformity requirements stipulated within the Clean Air Act and the WV State Implementation Plan. Any interested or affected citizens, public agencies, representatives of transportation agencies, private providers of transportation, freight shippers, public transit users, or other parties who desire to view or comment on the MTP, new TIP, or TIP amendments should submit their inquiries or remarks before March 9th, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. to the following address or email.
