PUBLIC HEARING MEETING: THURSDAY, JANUARY 14, 2016 4:30 p.m. NOTICE OF HEARING ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT Notice is hereby given that the following has been appealed from the action of the City Manager in refusing to grant the following zoning permits: ITEM 1: Application # 10,238 by Mercer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for a permit to erect 2 ground signs, (1) ? 8ft. high with a 16′ x 5′ = 80ft2 face area, (2) ?8ft. high, with a face area = 9 x 5 = 45 ft2, for an entrance sign. Mercer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center signage to be used on property located at 1275 Southview Drive between South View Drive, R1 460, and Section No. East River or County Map 43, 60, and Parcel No. 157.2,2 (Zoning: BN). REASON FOR REFUSAL: Section 44-300 Business and industrial districts. (a) On-site signs. On-site signs in business and industrial districts shall be subject to the following regulation: (3) Ground signs. Ground signs will be allowed in landscaped areas in all business districts. Ground signs can be placed on one or more posts. A ground sign may have a face size no larger than five percent of the landscaped area in which it is set, with a maximum size of 25 square feet. The maximum height of a ground sign shall be eight feet.
