West Virginia Department of Education takes public comment on special education policy revisions
Public hearings to accept comments regarding proposed revisions to the West Virginia Board of Education’s special education policy for public schools are being conducted by the West Virginia Department of Education at three locations across the state in June 2017. The schedule is as follows: June 5, Woodrow Wilson High School, Beckley; June 6, Edison Center, South Charleston; and June 7, Morgantown High School, Morgantown. All hearings will begin at 6:00 pm. A sign language interpreter will be available at each public hearing.

Additionally, written comments may be submitted to the department now through June 12, 2017. Revisons to Policy 2419: Regulations for the Education of Students with Exceptionalities, a comment form and mailing address are posted on the department website at http://wvde.state.wv.us/policies/. Comments will be accepted online http://wvde.state.wv.us/policies/onlinecomments.html?id=2419 or by mail during the comment period.
