Application for a certificate of convenience and necessity to operate as a common carrier of used tires.
On January 4, 2017, the Applicant, Hole in the Wall New and Used Tires, LLC, filed an application for a certificate of convenience and necessity to transport salvaged tires in Jefferson and Berkeley Counties, West Virginia, at a rate of $2.50 per tire. The proposed certificate and rates are as follows:
to operate as a common carrier by motor vehicle in specialized service in the transportation of waste or scrap tires and/or tire derived materials in Jefferson and Berkeley Counties, West Virginia, on the one hand, to points and places in West Virginia, on the other hand, authorized to properly handle, process, dispose ad/or make beneficial re-use thereof.
RATE: $2.50 per tire
On May 16, 2017, Commission Staff filed a Further Final Joint Staff Memorandum recommending the application be approved, if there are no protests, after proper publication.
Anyone desiring to protest or intervene should file a written protest or notice of intervention within ten days following the date of this publication unless otherwise modified by Commission order. If no protests are received, the Commission may waive formal hearing and render its decision on the application based on the evidence submitted with the application and the Commission’s review thereof. Requests to intervene must comply with the Commission’s rules on intervention set forth in the Commission’s Rules of Practice and Procedure.
