CASE NO. 16-0824-W-19A

On June 17, 2016, Fox Glen Utilities, Inc., a public water utility providing service to approximately 255 residential customers in Jefferson County, West Virginia, filed an application with the West Virginia Public Service Commission, under Rule 19-A of the Commission’s Rules for Construction and Filing of Tariffs (Tariff Rules), seeking to increase its rates and charges for providing water service.

The Staff of the Public Service Commission has reviewed that application as well as the Applicant’s financial books and records and has recommended that the Applicant’s water rates and charges be increased to generate an additional $56,546 annually, which represents a 76.57{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c} increase over annual revenues generated by current (existing) rates. The current rates and the Staff-recommended rates and charges are as follows:

Current Rates

Flat Rate Charge (all customers)

         Residential Customers:          $23.67 per month

Commercial Customers (Gentleman’s Club):         $150.00 per month

Staff Recommended Rates

Flat Rate Charge (all customers)

         Residential Customers:          $41.79 per month

Commercial Customers (Gentleman’s Club):     $264.85 per month

Any person affected by the Staff-recommended changes in the rates and charges has the right to protest or to be heard as to why the changes should not be allowed, either wholly or in part. Anyone desiring to protest the Staff-recommended increased rates and charges must do so in writing, within ten (10) days after the publication of this notice.

All protests should be addressed to the Executive Secretary, Public service Commission of West Virginia, P.O. Box 812, Charleston, WV 25323.

To help the Commission determine the justification for additional review and investigation, protests must be specific as to the reasons that the changed rates and charges should not be approved. In addition, anyone desiring a hearing in this matter must demand a hearing in the letter of protest. If substantial protest is not received, the Commission may approve the Staff-recommended rates without hearing.
