PUBLIC HEARING
FY 2015 SMALL CITIES BLOCK GRANT
The Town of Farmington will hold a public hearing on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 6:30 P.M. at the Town Hall located at 1314 Mill Street, Farmington, WV 26571.
On or about May 21, 2015 the Town of Farmington intends to submit an application to the West Virginia Development Office for federal funds under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended for the FY 2015 Small Cities Block Grant in the amount of $1,500,000.00.
The Town of Farmington proposes to consolidate Little Laurel Run Water Association and a selected portion of the Lincoln Heights Improvement Association with the Town of Farmington. It is proposed to replace approximately 20,500 LF of potable waterlines, an existing booster pump station and paint an existing water storage tank.
The purpose of this public hearing is to allow citizens to comment on the proposed project prior to the passage of a resolution authorizing the filing of the application. The application is available for public review and copying, upon request, at the Town of Farmington.
Written comments will be received until 4:00 P.M. on Monday, April 20, 2015 and should be addressed to the Town of Farmington, P.O. Box 520, Farmington, WV 26571.
The Town of Farmington encourages all citizens to attend or provide written comments, especially citizens who are elderly, low income, handicapped or minorities and who live in low-moderate income neighborhoods or live in areas of slums or blight. Special note should be made that this application will compete with other SCBG applications in the State and there is no guarantee of funding.
