The City of Charles Town will hold a public hearing on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 7:00 pm, prevailing time, to consider amendments to the Codified Ordinances with Regard to Part 3 Traffic Code: Chapter 5 Vehicular Operation: Article 333 Driving Under The Influence; Reckless Driving, Article 335 Speed Restrictions, Article 345 Safety And Equipment, and Article 349 Miscellaneous Rules. Chapter 7 Parking: Article 361 Parking Generally. Part 5 General Offenses Code, Article 501 Administration And Law Enforcement, and Part 7 Business Regulation and Taxation Code Chapter 3 Taxes and Services, Article 745 Business And Occupation Tax. The proposed ordinances, which were introduced to City Council by first reading on October 6, 2025, may be inspected by the public at the Office of the City Clerk by visiting City Hall at 101 E. Washington Street, Charles Town, WV or by emailing the Deputy City Clerk at [email protected] and requesting an electronic copy.
Any person interested in this matter may appear before the Charles Town City Council at the City Hall, 101 E. Washington Street, Charles Town, West Virginia, and present any comment or protest thereto. Persons wishing to appear before Council to make live remote comment must enroll with the Deputy City Clerk at [email protected] no later than 5:00 pm on November 3, 2025.
Following this hearing City Council may act upon the proposed ordinance by public motion and vote.
