NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BOND FINANCING BY THE INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE TOWN OF BLUEFIELD, VIRGINIA
The Industrial Development Authority of the Town of Bluefield, Virginia (the “Authority”), whose address is 112 Huffard Drive, Bluefield, Virginia 24605, will hold a public hearing on the request of Bluefield College (the “College”), whose principal place of business is 3000 College Avenue, Bluefield, Virginia 24605 to issue its revenue bond in a principal amount not to exceed $1,100,000 to pay costs of constructing a third-floor addition to the College’s Science Center (the “Project”) located within the Town of Bluefield, Virginia (the “Town”). The owner and operator of the Project will be the College. The Project is located at 3000 College Avenue, Bluefield, Virginia.
The issuance of industrial development revenue bonds as requested by the College shall not be deemed to constitute a debt or pledge of the faith and credit of the Commonwealth of Virginia or the Town. Neither the Commonwealth of Virginia nor any political subdivision thereof, including the Authority and the Town, shall be obligated to pay the bond or the interest thereon or other costs incident thereto except from the revenues and monies pledged therefor, and neither the faith and credit nor the taxing power of the Commonwealth of Virginia nor any political subdivision thereof is pledged to the payment of principal of such bond or the interest thereon or other costs incident thereto.
The public hearing, which may be continued or adjourned, will be held at 12:00 pm. on June 20th, 2018, before the Authority, at 112 Huffard Drive, Bluefield, Virginia 24605.
Any person interested in the issuance of the bonds or the location or nature of the proposed project may appear at the hearing and present his or her views.
