NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Hampshire County Commission will hold a public hearing during their regularly scheduled meeting of October 24, 2017 at 9:15 a.m., in the Courtroom of the Old Courthouse to consider a proposed addendum to the Nuisance: Viscous Dog Ordinance, also known as HC-6-01. The intent of the proposed revision is to eliminate a five-member body known as the Nuisance Appeal Board and have any appeal of the decision of the seizing officer made directly to the Magistrate within 5 business days of notice of seizure. The Magistrate’s order would be appealable to the Circuit Court and would eliminate County Commission involvement, thus reducing the time required. Specifically, revisions include paragraph C, and subparagraphs a, b, c, d, and adds subparagraph e. Copies of HC-6-01 as well as the proposed amendment to the same are available in the Hampshire County Clerk’s Office at 19 East Main St., Romney, WV during business hours of 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., M-F. Hampshire County Commission meetings are open to the public.
