NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
CITY OF RONCEVERTE
The Ronceverte City Council will conduct a public hearing (and second reading) on Monday, May 2, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. at Ronceverte City Hall, 182 Main Street West, Ronceverte, West Virginia, to consider amendments to the Ronceverte Municipal Code, Chapter 3, Vehicles and Traffic, Article 23 – Stopping, Standing & Parking, adding sections 3-23-16a-e – Emergency Snow Routes.
Interested parties may comment at such time and written comments are also welcome in advance directed to the City of Ronceverte, City Administrator, P.O. Box 417, Ronceverte, WV 24970.
The proposed amendments may be viewed in advance of the Public Hearing at Ronceverte City Hall.
The Council may consider adoption of the proposed amendment following the hearing and second reading.
The purpose of Sections 3-23-16a through and including Section 3-23-16e of the Municipal Code is to provide procedures for ordering the location of the vehicles parked on City streets so as not to impede the progress of snow removal equipment endeavoring to clear the streets of snow and to provide for the tow-away of vehicles so stopped, standing or parked as to constitute safety hazards by impeding the passage of emergency vehicles or other vehicles on the streets or the removal of unsafe accumulations of snow and ice.
When this ordinance is placed in effect for the Downtown Area, the following portions of streets are included:
-Parking spaces on Main Street from the intersection of Route 63 at Walnut Street to Frankford Road.
-Parking spaces on Edgar Avenue between the intersections of Cedar Street to Frankford Road.
Any motor vehicle that may be parked contrary to the provisions of sections 3-23-16a through 3-23-16d may be towed away at the owner’s expense and could be fined not more than $50 for the first offense; for second or subsequent offense, up to $100 fine. Violations shall be charged and collected in the same manner as other parking violations, by notice of a fine payable to the municipal court clerk.
