PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED
ORDINANCE
TO: CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF FAIRMONT:
The Council of the City of Fairmont at its regular meeting held
May 25, 2021 introduced and publicly read in its entirety for the first time the following City Ordinances:
• An Ordinance Providing For An Amendment To The City Of Fairmont’s 2020-2021 Annual Budget: General Fund.
• An Ordinance Providing For An Amendment To The City Of Fairmont’s 2020-2021 Annual Budget: Coal Severance.
• An Ordinance Of The Council Of The City Of Fairmont Amending And Supplementing Ordinance No. 1880 Duly Adopted February 9, 2021, Which Ordinance Provides For The City Of Fairmont’s Current Pay Plan And List Of Occupational Classes For All Class Titles And Employees, To Accommodate Certain Changes, Namely: Certain Percentage Base Pay Increases For Employees; Adjustment Of Base Pay For The Positions Of Firefighter Apprenticeship I & II; Creation Of Certain Additional New Positions; And An Increase In Longevity Pay For Certain Employees.
• An Ordinance Of The Council Of The City Of Fairmont Amending And Supplementing Ordinance No. 1171, Enacted August 14, 2001, And Codified As Part Three Traffic Code, Chapter Three Streets And Traffic Control Devices, Section 311 Street Obstructions And Special Uses, Subsection .O5 Prohibition Of Operation And Use Of Motorized Recreational Apparatus Of The Fairmont City Code, To Provide For And Permit The Operation Of Street-Legal Special Purpose Vehicles Upon The Public Streets, Roads, Alleys And Ways Of The City Of Fairmont.
Copies of the proposed Ordinances are available in the office of the City Clerk, Room 312, 200 Jackson Street, Fairmont, West Virginia.
The Public Hearing on the proposed items will be held at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 in Council Chambers, at the Public Safety Building, 500 Quincy Street, Fairmont, West Virginia.
Any interested person may appear at the public hearing and be heard as to whether or not said proposed Ordinance shall be enacted. All objections and suggestions shall be heard and Council shall take such action as it deems necessary in the premises.
