PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED ORDINANCE
TO: CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF FAIRMONT:
The Council of the City of Fairmont at its regular meeting held February 26, 2019 introduced and publicly read in its entirety for the first time the following City Ordinances:
1. An Ordinance Repealing Ordinance No. 1558, Duly Adopted April 24, 2012, And Codified As Section 1765 Of The Fairmont City Code, Floodplain Regulations, And Re-Enacting Article 1765 Floodplain Regulations To Provide For Certain Modifications To Said Regulations Recommended By The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) And The State Of West Virginia Division Of Homeland Security, West Virginia Flood Management Program Establishing That A Floodplain Exists And Requiring All Contractors, Persons, Partnerships, Businesses, And Corporations To Obtain A Permit For Development And The Construction, Substantial Improvement, Or Relocation Of Any Building Or Structure; Providing For Certain Minimum Standards For Construction Within The Floodplain Area And Setting Forth Special Procedures For Submission And Approval Of Plans; And Establishing Penalties For Any Person Who Fails To Comply With The Requirements Or Provisions Of This Ordinance.
Copies of the proposed Ordinances are available in the office of the City Clerk, Room 312, 200 Jackson Street, Fairmont, West Virginia.
The Public Hearing on the proposed items will be held at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 in Council Chambers, at the Public Safety Building, 500 Quincy Street, Fairmont, West Virginia.
Any interested person may appear at the public hearing and be heard as to whether or not said proposed Ordinance shall be enacted. All objections and suggestions shall be heard and Council shall take such action as it deems necessary in the premises.
