NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS

To maintain necessary clearances for safe and reliable electric service, Appalachian Power plans to manage vegetation along a portion of its 34.5 and 12 kilovolt distribution system in Raleigh County, WV. On or about January 2, 2020, contract crews will begin to trim and remove trees and brush along our rights of way. Work will be done in accordance with International Society of Arboriculture guidelines and take into account factors such as tree species, growth characteristics, line voltage, etc. In unmaintained or undeveloped areas, cuttings will remain on site to minimize soil disturbance and to promote biodegradation. Rights of way in the area involved in the program are:
Clifftop – Scott Ridge circuit in the Crow area. Beckley – Raleigh circuit in the Beckley, Sullivan areas. Stotesbury – Hotcoal circuit in the Stotesbury, Coal City areas. Beckley – Mabscott circuit in the Mabscott area. Pemberton – Pemberton circuit in the Pemberton area. Glen White-Glen White circuit in the Glen White, Glenview area. Trap Hill – Fairdale and Trap Hill – Surveyor circuits in the Breckenridge, Posey Saxon, Lester, Hotchkiss areas. Edwight-Edwight circuit in the Horse Creek Arnett area. Slab Fork – Slab Fork in the Slab Fork area.

Representatives will attempt to personally contact resident property owners at least seven business days prior to working on their property. Specifics regarding your property may be discussed at that time. If you are a nonresident property owner and have questions regarding our right-of-way maintenance, please contact:
