Notice to Customers – Vegetation Management

NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS

 

To maintain necessary clearances for safe and reliable electric service, Appalachian Power Company plans to manage vegetation along the Midkiff-Four Mile Creek Rd. portion of its 34kV distribution system in Lincoln and Wayne Counties in WV.  On or about February 8th, 2021, contract crews will begin to trim and remove trees and brush and apply herbicides along our rights-of-way.  Work will be done in accordance with International Society of Arboriculture guidelines and take into account factors such as tree species, growth characteristics, line voltage, etc.  In unmaintained or undeveloped areas, cuttings will remain on site so as to minimize soil disturbance and to promote biodegradation.

 

Rights-of-way in this area involved in the program are:  10 Mile Creek Rd., Twin Branch, Bear Wallow Rd., Lilly Rd., 14 Mile Creek Rd., East Lynn Rd., St. Route 37, McCoy Hollow Rd., Sulphur Hollow Rd., Ross Hollow Rd., Sled Rd., Fullen Counts, 12 Pole Creek East Fork, Dry Branch Rd., Lick Creek Rd., Milt Adkins Branch, 10 Mile Ridge Rd., Dean Ridge, Dusty Rd., 4 Mile Creek Rd. Left Fork, Azeala Rd., McClarity Fork, Fall Branch Rd., Red River Rd., 4 Mile Creek Rd., Pound Fork Rd., Lick Branch Rd., Watson Branch, Isaacs Lane, Silver Mine Hollow, Winter Drive, Dials Hollow, Holley Bush Rd., Donahoe Branch Rd., Chaney Branch, Kentuck Fork, Daisy Lane, Black Jack Hollow, Napier Fork Rd., Sulpher Spring, Kiless Hollow, Persimmon Ridge, Farmington Rd., Beech Fork Rd.

 

Representatives will attempt to personally contact resident property owners at least seven business days prior to working on their property.  Specifics regarding your property may be discussed at that time.  If you are a nonresident property owner and have questions regarding our right-of-way maintenance they may be directed to:
