NOTICE TOWN OF CHESAPEAKE Notice is hereby given that the Town Council of the Town of Chesapeake, a municipal corporation, has approved on first reading for further consideration AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AND ENACTING A NEW CODE FOR THE TOWN OF CHESAPEAKE; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF CERTAIN ORDINANCES NOT INCLUDED THEREIN; PROVIDING FOR THE MANNER OF AMENDING SUCH CODE; AND PROVIDING WHEN SUCH CODE AND THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE. An object of the Ordinance is the ratification and continuation of all fees which the Town now charges and which are in effect. The Ordinance, if adopted, would re-codify all of the ordinances of the Town in a comprehensive manner to reflect changes in State and federal law, and to incorporate ordinances adopted by the Town since the Town's municipal code was last comprehensively updated and codified in 2001. The Ordinance will be read by title and considered for final adoption at a Town Council meeting and public hearing to be held on July 27, 2026 at 6:00 pm at the Dr. Lisa E. Curry Memorial Annex, 12316 MacCorkle Ave., SE, Chesapeake, WV 25315. A copy of the Ordinance is available for inspection at City Hall, 12404 MacCorkle Ave., SE.
