NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT The City of Princeton will accept sealed bids for Phase 2 Site Improvements & Entries of the former Dean Company Property, located at 800 Bee Street in order to accommodate the Princeton Municipal Complex.

The Princeton Municipal Complex – Phase 2 Site Improvements and Entries, General Construction Contract, for the following scope of work: Exterior site improvements including but is not limited to, site clearing and demo, erosion and sediment control, earthwork for utilities and piping, dewatering, grading, concrete pavement and curbs, asphalt pavement (light and heavy duty), lawns and grasses. Exterior Administration Entry and City Council Entry with Courtyard construction includes but is not limited to, foundations, concrete, site walls, structure, unit masonry, EPDM, canopies, aluminum storefront entry, aluminum composite wall panels, corregated wall panels and perforated metal panels. Many aspects of this project will require close coordination with the many other disciplines.

Sealed bids will be received by the City of Princeton, Mercer County, West Virginia, at the current Princeton Municipal Building, 800 Bee Street, until 1:00 P.M., on Tuesday, May 7th. Bids received after that time will be returned to the bidder unopened. All sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the Princeton Municipal Building immediately following the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. Interested parties are invited to attend.

The Work includes renovations to the existing building/site improvements as documented in the drawings and specifications prepared by E.T. Boggess Architect, Inc. All bids must be enclosed in sealed envelope bearing the name “Phase 2 Site Improvements & Entries.” Faxed bids will not be accepted. Bids may be mailed or delivered to Mike Webb, City of Princeton, 800 Bee Street, Princeton, WV 24740, if received prior to bid date.

A mandatory, pre-bid meeting will be held at the site located at 800 Bee Street on Tuesday, April 23rd at 10:00 a.m. All general contractors bidding the project are required to attend the meeting to familiarize themselves with the project location, site conditions and other relevant information.

Bidders on this work may not discriminate in employment with regards to race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. Bidders must comply with the requirements of all applicable state and federal laws. Bidders must also comply with West Virginia Code 21-1D-5 requiring a Drug Free Workplace.

Each bidder will be required to furnish a certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Princeton or a Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and a grantee Bidder and a Bidder surety company approved by the City of Princeton, West Virginia, in an amount equal to five percent (5{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}) of the total projected cost of the work, materials and labor, plus proposed fee, which shall be submitted with each Bid to guarantee the Bidder’s entrance into a Contract, if given the award. No Bid shall be waived or returned because the Bidder failed to or cannot comply with any requirements as set forth in the Plans, Specifications, or any applicable statutes of the United States, the State of West Virginia and/or local ordinances.

All bids must be submitted in accordance with the Bidding Documents issued by the Architect and the Form of Proposal.

To obtain Construction Documents, please contact E.T. Boggess Architect, Inc., 101 Rockledge Avenue, Princeton, WV 24740 (304-425-4491). The cost for printed bid documents is $175 and is nonrefundable. The cost for a CD is $50.00 and is nonrefundable.

The City of Princeton reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities therein.

No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the time of opening of the bids.

All bidders will be required to certify, indicate and acknowledge that he/she has all appropriate licenses and meets all qualifications required by the laws, regulations, and ordinances of the State of West Virginia and the City of Princeton.
