Application for approval of demand response and backup
and maintenance service tariff provisions.
NOTICE OF EVIDENTIARY HEARING
On October 23, 2015, Appalachian Power Company and Wheeling Power Company both operating as American Electric Power (Companies), filed with the Public Service Commission of West Virginia a tariff containing terms and conditions for furnishing electric service to approximately 473,331 customers in cities, towns, villages, unincorporated municipalities, and rural areas in their service territories in the counties of Boone, Brooke, Cabell, Clay, Fayette, Greenbrier, Jackson, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, Marshall, Mason, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Monroe, Nicholas, Ohio, Putnam, Raleigh, Roane, Summers, Wayne, and Wyoming.
The Commission suspended the tariffs to permit a full examination of the proposed tariff changes consisting of two new riders for demand response service, Rider D.R.S.-RTO Capacity and Rider D.R.S. and a new Standard Backup and Maintenance Service Schedule, Schedule S.B.S.
The Commission will hold the evidentiary hearing in this matter on August 2, 2016, at 9:30 a.m., in the Howard M. Cunningham Hearing Room, Public Service Commission Building, 20 1 Brooks Street, Charleston, West Virginia, and continuing as necessary thereafter.
Members of the public may observe the evidentiary hearing.
